With couples free to choose their caterer, florist, photographer, band/DJ etc, you really are able to personalize your day to your hearts content. We offer as much guidance and support as you require during your planning stages and will coordinate your wedding day from start to finish so you can just relax and enjoy your celebration safe in knowledge that your Wedding Day will come together exactly as you always envisaged.

Our most elegant room for Wedding celebrations. Perfect for a formal or informal Wedding Breakfast. Accommodates 90 guests on straight tables or 70 guests on round tables, (Round tables must be hired independently) Evening Receptions up to a maximum of 150 guests.
This room is perfect for more casual celebrations with a buffet and evening party. Situated on the ground floor with access straight off Agincourt Road. Accommodates a maximum of 70 guests on straight tables or 60 guests on round tables. (Round tables must be hired independently) Evening Parties up to a maximum of 150 guests.
Old Council Chamber
A perfect room on the third floor to use as a relaxing area or games area for younger guests. Some couples opt to hire in soft seating to provide a relaxing lounge for guests wishing to escape for five minutes. Ideal to serve tea & coffee following your wedding breakfast while we transform Courtroom 2 for your evening party and Band/DJ.
We simply recommend a range of the most distinguished and reputable caterers, all of whom have the skills and expertise to create a truly memorable breakfast. Whether you opt for canapés, afternoon tea, buffet or a more formal traditional three course wedding breakfast our recommended caterers will be pleased to discuss and supply a no obligation quotation.
We will supply all crockery, cutlery and glass ware for your wedding breakfast and your chosen caterer will provide an experienced team of staff to look after all your food service throughout the day. Table cloths and napkins are available to hire from us directly or we can put you in touch with a local supplier for a wider choice of colours and sizes.
We also supply straight tables for your wedding breakfast, your cake and gifts and have a choice of chairs available. If you would like access to the Shire Hall the afternoon before your wedding this can be easily arranged in advance or you are welcome to deliver your items to us on the morning of the Wedding for us to set up and decorate according to your previously detailed instructions.

Bar & Beverages
The Shire Hall operates a fully licensed cash bar serving a good selection of wines, bottled lagers, ales, cider and spirits. The Bar is set up for weddings and events on our first floor landing connecting Courtroom 1 and Courtroom 2. Alternatively if you would like your celebration in our Community Room we are able to relocate the Bar to this room.
For your arrival drinks and toasts we can offer you a tailor made drinks package to suit you and your guests so please do tell us what you’d like and we’ll do our very best to provide it.
If you would prefer to bring along your own bottles for your drinks reception and/or toast/table wine we charge corkage at £5 per bottle. Following your Wedding Breakfast all beverages must be purchased from the Shire Hall Bar.

Evening celebrations at the Shire Hall can take place in Courtroom 2 or our ground floor Community Room. Again you are free to choose your caterer and menu whether it may be a buffet, big pan dish or cheese and biscuits. Your caterer will supply staff to serve and clear all food items and the Shire Hall will supply any necessary crockery and cutlery. Both rooms can accommodate a maximum of 150 persons for an evening party.
Following your wedding breakfast, while you take tea and coffee in the Old Council Chamber we can clear away any necessary tables and chairs to make way for your Band/DJ to set up so that you and your guests can get foot loose and fancy free on the dance floor.
Our music and bar license finishes at 12 midnight with all guests vacating by 12.30am.
